Devanagari captions that look designed, not default

Many tools draw every Hindi caption in the same plain font. Here each caption style has its own Devanagari typeface — a heavy display face for Bold, a handwritten one for Handwritten, a serif for Pop — so the style you pick still looks like that style in Hindi.

Conjuncts and matras are drawn by real Indic fonts, so words like “श्रेष्ठ” or “क्रिएटर” render correctly at caption sizes.

Hindi or Hinglish: choose the script your audience reads

Hindi speech can be captioned in Devanagari or in Roman letters. Devanagari suits news, education and longer videos; Roman-script Hinglish suits Reels and Shorts aimed at younger, mobile-first viewers. It is the same transcription either way, so you can try both on one video.

How to add Hindi subtitles in three steps

1. Upload your video (MP4, MOV or WebM).

2. Choose Hindi as the spoken language. The captions are generated automatically, word by word.

3. Fix any word in the editor, choose one of 18 caption styles, and export.

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate Hindi subtitles automatically?

Yes. Upload the video, choose Hindi as the spoken language, and benaam.cc writes the captions in Devanagari with timing for each word. You then edit and style them.

Is there a free Hindi subtitle tool?

Yes, for Hinglish. You can sign up without a card on the free plan: 5 minutes of video a month, 720p export with a watermark and 2 caption styles. All other languages, all 18 styles and watermark-free 1080p export are on the paid plans — see the pricing section of the home page for current details.

Does it support Hindi videos with English words?

Yes. English words spoken inside Hindi sentences are written in Devanagari, the way they are usually typed, and you can correct any spelling in the editor.

Which fonts are used for Hindi captions?

Each of the 18 caption styles uses its own Devanagari font, chosen to match the style — for example a heavy display face for Bold and a handwriting face for Handwritten.

Can I get Hindi captions in English letters?

Yes — pick Hinglish. The same speech is written in Roman script. See the Hinglish captions page.
