Why regional languages need more than a language setting

A caption tool for Indian languages has to get three things right: recognising the speech, drawing the script, and keeping long words on screen. Recognition is handled by speech models for each language; drawing is handled by fonts built for each script; fitting is handled by splitting speech into short phrases you can resize in the editor.

Here all three are in place, so a Malayalam or Tamil caption gets the same care as a Hinglish one.

Languages supported today

Hinglish (Hindi, Roman script) · Hindi (Devanagari) · English · Marathi (Devanagari) · Bengali · Tamil · Telugu · Kannada · Malayalam. Each has its own page with a sample, and the picker in the app shows each one in its own script.

How to add regional-language subtitles in three steps

1. Upload your video (MP4, MOV or WebM).

2. Choose regional-language as the spoken language. The captions are generated automatically, word by word.

3. Fix any word in the editor, choose one of 18 caption styles, and export.
